Can you guess where these two met?! Big thanks to Jen Marino Photography for the wedding photos of Becky and Will who married at the beautiful Oxleaze Barn in Oxfordshire. Magic, face painting, garden games, homemade cakes, afternoon tea, AND a gin bike were just some of the details that went into making this wedding wonderful. Perfect viewing on a cold and wet winter’s day I’d say! Enjoy :)

“Hi Suzie, I just wanted to say a massive thank you for being at mine and Matt’s wedding. We both just had the best day, despite the drizzle! I’ve attached a few photos we took with the car, which looked absolutely stunning by the way! :) Thanks again.”

It’s true, the weather was pretty wet but it just goes to show you, even if it chucks down on your wedding day, you won’t care! You’ll be beaming from ear to ear like these two. (Plus the inside of my car is so fabulous darling, interior shots look just as ace!)

Will & Kate’s Luscious Lux Winter Wedding

Well, this is how to do a winter wedding. Ask everyone to dress in black tie and this is what you get… luscious lux glam. Wow! As you know, we are never knowingly under-sequinned but this wedding blew my sparkly socks off. Massive congrats to Will and Kate (not those ones, durrr) who married at the amazing Elmore Court. The sun shone, the sequins sparkled and these two absobluddylutely rocked it! Just wait till you see the flower girl. Move over bride, she wants your job!!!!

What’s so great about an Ambassdor wedding car?

To be perfectly honest, as cars go, they aren’t actually all that great.  Compared to a modern car that is.  Thirsty on the petrol, there’s no power steering, so biceps of steel are needed to maneuver.  Sometimes it feels like you have to stand on the brakes to stop, and don’t get me started on the handbrake.  Let’s just say, if hill starts were a sport, I could enter the Olympics! With no air con, on a hot summer’s day, shade from a tree is my only friend when parked.  That and a fan of course.  Yep, driving an old Ambassador is not for the faint hearted that’s for sure. But that’s also why I love it so. It’s quirky, whiny and cool.  It never fails to get a reaction and turn heads, I feel proud to own such a rare beast.  And rare it is, after 56 years of production in India ceased two years ago, the iconic Amby is no more. Well, apart from the 33,000 or so working as taxis in Kolkata! But what’s great about the Ambassador and why does it make a good wedding car? Well, to start with, there’s the ample legroom and roomy backseat that bounces along on the comfy suspension. Its impressive headroom and low front seats give passengers an uninterrupted view. Top it off with my Amby’s bejewelled interior and flowery bumpers, it’s a perfect, one-off, work of art that’s guaranteed to give your wedding the wow factor.

Real Words from Real Brides – Our 5* Reviews in Words and Pictures

I’m proud to say that my business is in its 7th year now.  Word of mouth and a great presence on social media mean that I rarely go to wedding fairs or advertise these days.  However, if you would like to meet me and the car in person, I’d love to tell you more. Or you can read more about us both in our Expert Interview.  Don’t take my word for it, scroll down for some rave reviews from recent years and you’ll see some of the awesome feedback I get from couples. I pride myself on top-notch customer service, with the bride & groom as my number one priority, particularly the bride’s dress & hair! I promise that you and your guests will be completely blown away by my Ambassador’s quirky and fun vibe, giving your wedding a tongue-in-cheek nod to the past, whilst also being bang on trend for the vintage look.

“Thank you Suzie! We had the most amazing time and you were absolutely incredible. Thank you for doing (literally) EVERYTHING to help ensure that our day ran smoothly, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, even lifting me leg down into the car as I was some ‘restricted’ in my dress! It was a real nerve calmer driving with you, my Dad and Stepdad to the church, sharing jokes, laughing and giggling all the way. The car was a massive hit and is beautiful inside and out, just like it’s proud owner! We were truly honoured to have you as part of our day and Isla will be utterly delighted to hear that she has won ‘Flower Girl of the Year 2016′ (to be fair she was a bit good wasn’t she?!). We honestly could not have asked for anymore! xxxxx” Kate & Will, Elmore CourtP1120036

“My wonderful husband Alex booked Suzie and her lovely car to take me to our wedding. I had said I wasn’t that fussed about a car but my word, this was one of the best parts of the day! The car looked incredible and all my guests LOVED it, I felt awesome arriving to Cripps Stone Barn in it. Suzie made it though, she was such a delight and made myself and my parents feel so at ease in a moment of nervous knots. The drive was just lovely! Thank you so much Suzie and thank you for taking some gorgeous photos of us with your gorgeous car too xxx.” Jess & Alex, Stone BarnP1110990

“What a great way to start a wedding by travelling in the Ambassador. My daughter Jess got married on Saturday to her soulmate Alex and my husband Bill and I travelled with Jess in the car. It is a very special vehicle with a magic interior and outside classic lines. Suzie made the journey a joy and took us on the scenic route in the Cotswolds past the beautiful beech tree woods. I cannot recommend Kushi Cars more highly. I’m trying to think how I can get another ride without remarrying – but Mr Hughes might have something to say about that!” Barbara, Mother of the Bride, Stone Barn P1110970

Thank you so much for your wonderful car Suzie! What a fab surprise from my dad; having lived in India it was just perfect! You were so relaxing and lovely, helping me with my dress and bouquet and even having a mirror to hand! Thank you for helping make our day perfect!! Hope to see you around Cheltenham, Clare xxx The Barn at BerkeleyP1110807

What an absolutely fantastic car! Suzie was a pleasure to deal with and went the extra mile to tow my dream car to the wedding venue. Myself and my husband hired Suzie and her beautiful Indian ambassador car for our wedding day and I can honestly say we were not disappointed! The car wowed us and our guests with its true unique style and the service which Suzie provided was on point! From timings to the bottles of water and sweets for the journey. I would not hesitate to recommend Kushi Cars to anyone wanting to wow on their special occasion. Sheila & Dan, Bristol Marriott Royal HotelP1110694

Hi Suzie! I’ve been meaning to send you this since we got our wedding photos just before Christmas but it just kept slipping my mind! Hi Suzie, just wanted to say a huge thank you for driving us to my wedding on 9th October. The car was amazing and you were so lovely. Nobby’s family absolutely loved the car. Thanks again! Love Jo and Nobby xxx P1110443

Shane and I would like to thank you Suzie for everything! Was a pleasure to meet you and to have a relaxing journey to our venue in your beautiful, little car with my Mum. Suzie, you were so friendly and put me at ease from the moment you helped me into the car with my dress. After the ceremony, Shane and I very much enjoyed our ride in the car. It allowed us some time together and for Sheryl at Oobaloos Photography and yourself to capture some moments of us away from all the excitement. It was just enough time for us to collect our thoughts and enjoy the rush of having just said our vows to one another before returning us to the party. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Hey Suzie, Thanks so much for sending these through. It looks amazing, and we really, REALLY loved the experience. We’re just back from honeymoon and to see all your fabulous photos from our wedding last month on Facebook. Thank you so much for sharing! We both wanted to send you a huge thank you for bringing your beautiful car to Wilton Castle and Broome Farm. Your calm and patient presence was so invaluable amongst all the chaos! And the photos from the car are absolutely incredible – I’m so glad we went with something a little different. We sent this email as a thank you to all our guests so we thought we’d send a special thanks to you as it wouldn’t have been the same without you! Big love” Ellie + Dan, Wilton Castle P1090467

Hi Suzie, Firstly, can I say thank you so much for the wonderful part you played in our special day. From helping me get into the car, to checking whether I’d removed my engagement ring and taking some of the best photos I’ve seen so far! The car is magical and went down a storm with all our guests. It really did add to the traveling theme of our wedding and I would highly recommend Kushi cars to everyone I know. Everybody warns you that you’ll feel a real low after it’s all over. To be honest, I had such a great time, I still feel elated. The one thing I do feel sad about is the relationships and friendships we formed with all the wonderful people that we met on the journey from he beginning to the actual wedding day, including you, are now at an end! Thank you once again! It would be great of you were able to find a minute to send me copies of those photos. Lots of love, xxx” Lindsay & Andy, Stone BarnIMG_4693

Hi Suzie! Thank you so much for helping make our day so special, all the guests were very impressed with your car and it was definitely a highlight of the day! The photos that you took are brilliant! I am so pleased that we found you as I didn’t want a ‘traditional’ wedding car and your car was absolutely perfect, it was such a joy to ride in it! We have been receiving photos from guests and your car features heavily in them! Everyone LOVED it! Vin especially loved driving it Thanks so much again for everything (and also for being so kind and bringing me a bottle of water! It was so thoughtful of you). Take care of yourself. Lucy & Mike’s Champagne City Wedding in Bristol

Back in brilliant Bristol for our penultimate wedding of 2015…Booooo!!! Lucy & Mike married at The Square Club, with a champagne themed wedding, full to bursting with love, fun and funk. Lucy loved using the car as a prop at every opportunity, particularly on our little jaunt with their photographer Tasha Park to incorporate some classic Bristolian street art. As they say in Bristol, loves it!

Ananya & Sia’s English Stately Home Indian Wedding

Ananya and Sia married at Stoneleigh Abbey – a beautiful, quintessentially English stately home in Warwickshire.  There’s was an intimate, family wedding held in the stunning Orangery over-looking the river. It was something else! Ananya’s dress was hand-made in India and took more than 2000 hours to make.  As we drove alongside the river right up to the Orangery, our little Indian Ambassador Kushi Car surprised and delighted guests in equal measures .  The room went silent in awe apparently!  Lots of love to these incredible two for their next journey in life.

Congratulations to the amazing Chloe and Tom who were super lucky to marry in glorious sunshine at Stone Barn near Cheltenham. As Brits we love to talk about the weather, especially as the forecast had changed from rain to thundery showers to sunshine over the course of the week! Lucy & Tim’s Summery Cotswold Country House Wedding

What a stunning, summery wedding sandwiched between two days of torrential rain in Gloucestershire. So lucky! We were a nostalgic choice for Bride Lucy and her Dad who’d taken many a journey around India in Ambassador cars. When her Dad found one as a wedding car for hire, he booked us on the spot! Lucy and Tim had a relaxed, boho wedding, starting with a ceremony in the woodland clearing at Chavenage House and a reception on their beautiful lawns. A Cotswold family home unchanged for 400 years, Chavenage House is where the BBC film the house scenes for Poldark. Alas, despite the scorching day, there was no sign of the great man himself! Much love and luck to the lovely Lucy and Tim for today and always.
